A Peek At What's Being Played

Obviously having way too much time on my hands, I thought I'd take a little survey of who's playing what in QM. I got up to 540 different players and finally reached my limit of checking. This is just a snapshot of QM at one particular time. If I were to do the same thing again tonight, of course the numbers would be different, but this gives a look at what's being played in general at the present time. I'm sure for the experienced players this is nothing new but for me as a beginner it was interesting.

I should mention that I paid no attention to players ranks, I just checked the games as they came up in QM.

My experience from QM in COMPLETELY different from this one. Eladwen for example, never seen her in months. I guess this shows how QM is fluctuating, but only official statistics would show real state.

I agree Veles, all this can do is show QM at one particular moment in time. It would be interesting to see official stats averaged over a week or months time.

Since you have time... might I suggest you do this survey again once we are a month into 2.84 on iOS being released but do two sets of data.

Good idea, I'm up for, I really am enjoying this game I'll keep my eyes open for Apple finally giving their approval on the app.

Ok so we've decided on two sets of data right?

Set A for people rated 250 below

Set B for people rated 250 above

By inference...

• set A should have more variance than set B in terms of hero usage
• set A should have a larger sample size than set B as this is reflective of the actual population
• try to take samples at different times of the day to reduce seleciton bias
• a sample size of around 500-1000 should be large enough to give a good confidence interval and margin of error
