iOS and Android connection issue

My gf plays on her iPhone and I play on my android. We cannot seem to find each others games. I read that its becasue we are running different versions, but cant seem to find a way to upgrade her iOS version. Does anyone know if Apple hasnt approved the newest version or something? When will iOS catch up?

Downgrade the droid and wait to update again until apple approves.

That still makes no sense to me. It shouldn't matter what version of a client people are using, it should all still be saved to a mutual server that both are accessing.

In Shadow Era a lot of stuff is handled by the clients.

When the changes are really minor sometimes different revs can share the same server. Often, however, the changes would lead to major problems if not handled similarly by both players' client.
