Actually, an explanation on a delay is what many of us have been wanting for a while. You have to understand that, especially with coding, not everything can go according to plan. Explaining why the delay happened and about how much longer it could take was very appropriate on Kyle's end.

Also can "little cubs" become a thing? I wouldn't mind even in the slightest

why are YOU testing this?

There is something called QA. Even for a "prototype" product. Part of this test server update is supposed to put up the automated tournament system. Do you really want him to push out a non-functioning product out for the public to test. Add on the fact that this system may also affect server traffic and needs stress tests to see how it handles it.
