To be fair it is a good weapon for Serena.

your art can srsly be used as an alt art for Serena. personally, i like weapon and armor art to be the weapon/armor only, without any character included.

It is one of my greatest hopes that in the future, mankind achieves enlightenment so high we would not need rules, laws, or government to keep the peace and govern ourselves. By our own motivation and volition, we would do what is right and just because it is right and just. This is the central tenet of anarchy. Not chaos and lawlessness, but free will and self-actualization.

I second this. A weapon card art should place emphasis on the weapon and not the person holding it. Mourneblade is a good example. Weapon is the primary focus, with the guy holding it in the background as a secondary focus. I would be fine even with floating weapons like spectral Sabre.
+1 it works better as the alternative art of Serena....imo looking it my attention is focused on the hero and not on her sword...

But DP Serena is too fabulous for any competition .
It's always good to go back to your previous achievement and realize how mediocre it was , because it means that you have improved a lot since that time
To be fair there are numerous examples of character and a weapon in pick, from CotC only:

So weapon only art is actually an exception to general rule. There is actually only 6 weapons with weapon art only:
Soul Seeker, JD, Guardian's Oat, Wand of Izikus, Dragon's Tooth, Spectral Saber.
But I agree Serena sucks, she can't use it as effectively as Garth can.

I think Wulven just needs to add a section in the lore to tell the background story of Thoughtripper's Cutlass, in order to better illustrate as to why the card's name and artwork was selected. For you see, when people say "Garth killed Serena", they just don't mean in-game but also lore-wise. Garth came up with a plan in order to avoid any suspicion as to why he is was in possession of Serena's most prized weapon, after she was found brutally murdered. He threw Serena the most glorious funeral, with no expenses spared and even sought throughout the land for an artist who could capture her likeness in a painting. Garth made sure that the artist also included her prized weapon in the picture, so when people would come up to her coffin with the picture on top it, he could casually point and say "it is such a shame, the only thing that keeps me going is knowing she is still here with me in this weapon which she passed onto me".
In a more serious note, it is not the name that needs a change but the weapon's effect. It is important to note that I do not view the need for a change on the belief that the weapon is overpowered in anyway, but that the card makes Serena redundant and it also completely outshines Fan of Blades (the original card which was added so Serena could use her effect to hit at least one ally and also the hero to cause a discard). If Serena, and hence Fan of Blades did not exist, there would not be much of an issue.
While on the topic of changing cards, Thoughtripper's Cutlass would not be the only SF rogue card I would change. Currently I would sum up the class as the "disable, disable and discard mid-range club, with one redundant member looking for work". As such, as a dedicated rogue player, I am currently doing a write-up which will hopefully be done for Sunday (just proofreading and making it easier for readers to follow left to do). The main goals of the write-up are to ensure each rogue hero has a defining characteristic, to strengthen existing archetypes (mainly Serena control but also Lance and Garth mid-range too due to some suggested changes), to have more rogue themed cards (e.g. ambush, cheap tricks and poison) and to introduce new playable archetypes (mainly in the next expansion e.g. Serena weapon aggro - control and Garth swarm - control). I would appreciate it if others would give it a read and give their opinion when I do post it.
Just scratch out cutl and you're fine.

And I second this. CotC weapon card arts were excellently designed. And now, take a look at e.g. Lythian Sledgehammer's card art; it looks like it should be used for a whack-a-mole ability card.

I suggest you look again at the art for, say, Golden Katar or Anklebreaker. I think Kyle said he hated the art for Soul Seeker Bow, but I'm not sure exactly why.
