Tala – Horde Tactics

Hey Birdy, I've played tala quite a bit, but never w a deck like yours. It seems very card specific for differnt match ups. Is that the point? Like only 1 puwen is a big risk to get it when you need it. Ofc I understand only 2 Kp and 2 DT. But is the general build ment to be able ( if you get the card you need) to handle most match ups?

You put a lot of thought into this, time testing, time discusiing with your ETC pals and time writing this up.

So thank you for efforts and for sharing this with the community.

As for the heated anti-meta debate, everyone has their own interpretation of the meta which is constantly changing.

So I think it's fair to say that we can just agree that we disagree and leave it at that

I didnt diss your deck without having played it. I dissed your hero after spanking her with every hero I use. All the Tala decks look arike to me. T4 fortwisp! . And look heres a Worm! Oh noooo

My real beef was with the claims that she pwns Zal and is an anti-meta choice. Totally disagree with that.

i mean it sounds like preybird wins with this deck by flooding the field with cheep allies and only upgrading a few of them, I mean when i play vs it with banebow its pretty scary, but my victor just was like built to counter this kind of deck and its just too easy lol.

A lot of heroes have the ability to smoke her. Not just Zal and Vic.

Bingo. Plus it disrupts Zal's rhythm. If i have a protector on the table turn 4 you can't use Font to target two allies, you have to target one. If that ally is a Wisp there's little chance you'll wipe it that turn. That gives me a chance to drop a CB + 3cc ally next turn. If I'm going second I've got another ability use ready for when you MC my first Protector. If you double MC to take out my second that early in the game you've just lost two turns of tempo.

The 1 Puwen is there to make up my 2cc numbers. I want a 2cc ally and I can't have 5 Bladedancers so the Puwen is the next best thing. Generally the deck does pretty well with most matchups because it likes to be aggressive immediately. Victor is troublesome as has been discussed at length, rush Eladwen can be too quick sometimes and Boris is a pain with all my cheap allies, but generally I can take the fight to most decks with this list.

That's an assumption. Yes she's vulnerable to Retreat, Perfect Shot, Death From Above, but with the haste allies and crippling blow she can retake board easily, like in the vs Zal video posted earlier, even tho he took the 4 MC in the face and 3 Zal ability you still overcrowd the board, you make him waste ressource while you have a better draw and a faster ability regen. I rarely lost with her vs Zaladar, i'm 50-50 vs MS, and it's not devastating against Victor as you implies it. Again your mileage may varies, I think she's "currently" the most playable warrior in QM and i don't think she's Serena tier, not amber either.
