Suggestions for Eladwen

So I pulled 2 foil Eladwens from DP packs yesterday and I'm thinking about starting to craft a deck for her. I've never really played a mage deck though, so I thought that before I get to far into it I'd ask a really general question:

What do I need to know?

I thought this would make an interesting thread, not only to see different decks, but just to discuss approaches in general. I've read lots of Eladwen decks, but a lot of them seem to be CotC or DP decks. How has Eladwen been impacted by Shattered Fates?

I've considered making an "ice" themed deck with her, just for fun, but I'm very uncertain as to how effective that kind of deck would be (my gut tells me it wouldn't work--or at least it wouldn't work well).

Here's my Eladwen "ice" themed deck for CotC & DP cards only.

Hero:
Eladwen Frostmire

Allies:
4x Champion of Irum
3x Jasmine Rosecult
3x Aldon the Brave
3x Fleet-footed Messenger
2x Artful Squire
3x Frosted Urigon
3x Aeon Stormcaller

Abilities:
4x Fireball
2x Freezing Grip
3x Shatter Ice
2x Lightning Strike
2x Ley Line Nexus

Items:
4x Tome of Knowledge
2x Snow Sapphire

Main idea of the deck is to froze opposing allies and clear the board with Shatter Ice. But it's quite inefficient compared with Supernova.
And I have a problem with lack of cards in my hand since Tome of Knowledge is the only card that gives me extra draws.
It's more of a fun deck so far. I really need some advice for this deck.

tainted oracle or treasured heirloom are nice draw cards

that combo is pretty difficult to pull off, I would probably abandon it, all mage decks run 4 fireball 4 lightning strike, aeon is not played as much anymore in favor of viska because she cant be hurt by weapons and has haste

phoenix urigon and supernova is a fun combo you could run, you clear teh board but you get to keep your ally, so if they use crippling blow on it or something it is then useable again.

I'll try tainted oracle, treasured heirloom and viska.
But the "phoenix urigon and supernova" combo seems nothing to do with Eladwen's ability. I mean if I want to try this combo, I could choose another mage hero, like Nishaven, for example.

sfHong, your idea is very similar to mine: just looking to see if shatter ice could be viable. There's no doubt that the card would be useful if you managed to freeze 2-3 of your opponent's allies, but I have my doubts about how viable this is a game situation. It feels to defensive, and not necessarily all that easy to pull off.

I think I'll try some of pjoe's suggestions.

Maybe make a fire and ice combo themed deck or something. I like the Pheonix Urigon + Supernova idea too. I haven't tried this. I assume Pheonix returns to the board exhausted?
