Bailing When You're About to Lose

Just wondering if it is common practice to bail on a game when it's clear you're going to lose on a given turn?

I had that happen to me today. My Lance deck managed to outpace a Zhanna deck, along with 3 tidal waves. Zhanna had 5 health left and I had a board full of allies to finish her off... then BAM, my opponent bailed.

I know you still get the win, the experience and the gold, but it just somehow seems less satisfying. Or maybe that's just because I was in the midst of pretty miserable losing streak

Why make the game longer than necessary?

Maybe after seeing your opponents killing each of your allies or destroy your draw engine, ect... instead of giving the final blow, you'll end bailing too...

I usually let them kill me. If it's clear that I'm done, I'll even just start ending my turn without doing anything to speed up my brutal execution

But as I said, that's probably just me.

    Respectfully, It's just you.

As airact mentioned, there is no need to make the game longer than what is required.

Everyone enjoys the game in their own way and some people have limited time to play and to them, it makes more common sense to simply bail and start another new game.

Thanks! This is good information anyhow. If this is common practice I'll try not to grumble to myself when it happens. Not that it happens often as I'm usually the one on the loosing side of things lately!

I quit when I've lost and I'd rather see my opponent quit rather than have to go through the motions of delivering the killing blow.

Some people are upset when you say 'gg', some are upset when you don't. (BTW, we haven't had a gg debate in a while!)

The important thing is to not get upset over small stuff and not do anything blatantly disrecpectful (like taking forever to complete your turns).

Nobody finds it insulting when you surrender in chess in situation that leads to Checkmate. On the contrary most players resign an inevitably lost game before being checkmated as it is considered bad etiquette to continue playing in a hopeless position. I apply same logic here.

I dont mind them doing it. If you do it, you lose more rating though...but rating doesnt really matter in the grand scheme of things....
