Hi ladies and gents,
I've been playing SE for a long time now. Most of you probably already know the SE combat mechanics. And in essence, if your allies survive after attacking/killing an opposing ally, then you can use them next turn again with a full health. Then you can cast more allies the next turn plus your previous ally. I also noticed that once a player has a good size of the board sometimes maybe 2 allies only, its a slippery slope for the opposing player. They waste each turn just to regain the board in order to win. So most of the times, when a person has FTA they win because all they have to do summon an ally early, kill the opposing board efficiently and maintain the board.
Recently, i started playing Hearthstone and their combat mechanics is different from SE. The attacker and defender receives damage simultaneously. So both players, in my opinion, have an equal chance of regaining the board because the allies eventually die instead of the attacker surviving in SE.
SE combat mechanic: attacker damage first, if survive then defends.
Ally X 4/4 attacks Ally Y 6/4, Ally Y dies because it needs to survive in order to defend
HS combat mechanic: Simultaneous
Ally X 4/4 attacks Ally Y 6/4, Both allies die because damage is done simultaneously
I'm not much for arguments but i think changing the combat mechanics in SE to deal damage simultaneously will result to a more balanced board and game and it can actually decrease the advantage of FTA.
Let me know what you guys think =)
Sincerely,
