Shadow Era, ETC.

What is ETC?

ETC is a group of friends brought together by a mutual love of Shadow Era. We come from all walks of life and have wildly varying goals within the game. Some of us are highly competitive players and have taken out large scale tournaments. Some of us like to help the community, providing strategic advice. Some of us are more casual gamers, playing simply because it’s fun. Some of us are simply trolls. But the one thing we all have in common is a tight knit bond and dedication to the game and the community in general.

The best part about ETC is that you can be the player you want to be. We can cater for the highly competitive or the just for fun gamer.

Started way back in 2011 as the brainchild of Gondorian (of Design Team fame), ETC has continued on strongly and is now one of the oldest surviving guilds. We are now run by a team of leaders, all recognised players in their own right.

Core Values

These were the original ideals that led to the founding of ETC, and the ones we still operate by:

Enjoyment - Making sure the game stays fun for us.
Contribution - Continuously adding value to the community.
Honesty - A friendship doesn't work without trust.
Integrity - Individual actions should be aligned with the guild's goals.
Honour - The guild's goals cannot be met through dishonourable actions.
Collaboration - Greater value can be achieved through teamwork.
Humility - Show, don't tell.
Humanity - People first, players second.

However we have taken on a new ideal as well:

Individuality – Be who you want to be.

So what do I get out of this?

Well the benefits of joining us are myriad. By joining ETC you will get access to in-house tournaments, decklists, advice, mentoring, forum games, etc. (see what I did there? )

But most importantly you'll be joining a strong and varied community that will keep you entertained for hours on end.

So you want to join this eclectic bunch of Shadow Era veterans? Excellent! There are a couple of things that we require before you join:

Have a profile here.
Have at least 20 posts. We want to see that you are at least participating in the wider community.
Desire to be an active member of the community.

Nothing too stringent, but just enough to show us that you are interested in the game and are ready to join a guild. We don't require minimum ratings or tournament accolades, just the desire to play and have a bit of fun along the way.
