What happened to Defender?

I recall when it first showed up on Dark Flayer

and he became a semi-used cc2. I used Guardian's Oath

OK.

Since then, it seems Defender has been ignored and avoided a lot. I never on either server see Flayers, Cobra Demons, Oath or those 3 Warrior cards from DP with it. When it comes to allies, it seems to be (so far) more of a Shadow gimmick than Human and as I noted in my Rush topic, Shadow seems to suffer compared to Human.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to defender. It just kind of vanished. . .

It doesn't seem like a broken mechanic or anything. But it's Wulven, I'm sure they'll get around to it (Ah, harsh)

Yeah, it stinks that there isn't any new defenders, but I don't think that means it was ignored. I'm sure there's a reason why there aren't any in this set.

As for it vanishing, maybe the DT just decided to leave this particular mechanic out in order to be able to put in more new stuff for this set.
