Account not syncing accross the board?

I just started playing this game on my android, really enjoying it so far.
I downloaded the PC client and when I logged on it asked me to create a new character. Are accounts not synced across the board?

[EDIT: Resolved - mistakenly added a space to account name]

If you type in precisely the same email address on the PC log-in screen, you will have access to the original account. Any little typo or extra character will result in a new account being created. If you can remember/figure out the discrepancy you will then have two Shadow Era accounts.
