I know right? Sometimes it feels easier to just fold them, but you know that's the wrong move.

I used to play poker all the time, but then America made it super difficult to play online, so I stopped. Plus I never really thought I was that good. After about a year and a half of playing I broke even. Yay. . .

Anyway, the craziest thing I've had happen to me was the first time I played in real life at a Casino. I was doing really well and pushed this guy all-in with AKo, pre-flop. He turned over QJ? J10? I forget, but I remember I had great odds to win. The flop was 6c, 7c, 8c. The turn: 9c. And the river. . . 10c. So we split the pot. The dealer said he'd never seen a straight flush on the board like that, let alone in order. *sigh*

Does anybody play Straight 5 card draw poker anymore?
I play Texas w friend sometime and bluff is the king when your showing anything of power, but truthfully , I break even and rarely come out on top.
It's the constant , flop vs, hand, vs possibilities of river! Drives me nuts!

So in a nutshell I should just man up and call more to, if not anything else, gain information?

By the way, the KJo thing happened again (well, he didn't raise but he did call and he did bet on river), this time I took the advice and called, got a 2pair on river and this guy has a set. I dunno what to believe anymore.

Overall the more aggressive calling strat seems to work out. Still losing money but at least I learn more.

Edit: And this guy calls my all-in (AA) with KQs (he had a gutshot straight draw but come on, I don't think you should call all-ins with that) and it covers my losses for today and gives me a net plus.

Edit2: Ugh it's hard to spot bluffs. I don't think people would raise UTG with A8s or something like that but I still fold when the guy bets a turn where an 8 would make a straight (a gut 8, and guess what, I had KJo) or a flush. Like, he could have it but he raised UTG so I'm fairly sure he shouldn't have a straight. Could've had an AK flush I suppose.

Edit3: KJo again, let's see how it goes this time... Ok it did it's job, stole the blinds

Does anybody know if streaming Poker is allowed on Twitch (or something like that)? Might as well stream all this shit.

Edit4: The feels when I get AQ and the flop has a King. Every time. There's like no way I can call a bet at that point.

    Airact,
Streaming depends on your location and circumstances ( in not sure about the law when your " cuddling w polar bears).
But anywho, playing poker is not illegal as a pastime, ( and for no profit) so streaming it would not be be either.
Now that leaves alot of grey area. Just be careful , what and how you stream.

In my state of NJ, Internet gambling just got legalized ( idiot politicians) but you have to be in NJ to play. As far as rebroadcasting or simulcasting a game, I have no idea of laws. ( I'm sure they could find a way to fine you if they wanted to.) but as you know on TV poker is a spectator sport , so there's a way to do it!

On my 4th orbit of the day, 0 playable hands so far (the best being like Q9o which I probably only play on the button, if that).

Let's see how this goes lol. I got suited connectors just now but ugh, I have won a grand total of 0 pots with suited connectors. I haven't even had any flush or straight draws with them. I don't even know if I should play them (along with small pocket pairs, haven't hit a set yet).

    Edit:
Then I win a pot with A3s when I had to play the board with 3 people being in the pot (a pre-flop raiser, a caller and me). The fuck?

Edit2: Finally hit a set with 99 and even then the board almost went too straight-y (it kinda did because my opponent feared a straight).

I need to learn how to fold sets

"Nah he doesn't have a flush" said nobody fucking ever. First I correctly bet to protect my set (I probably didn't do it properly because he called, I guess I should bet the pot or more next time) and then I follow through when the opposition calls and hits a flush. Great fucking job me.

So I got KJ of diamonds and got the blinds

The next hand I get... KJ of diamonds... and got the blinds as well

    The odds?

Overall it seems like my play has evolved towards check/calling instead of betting when out of position. No idea when to check-raise either.

Bluffing doesn't really make sense either as if I play tight, I play to win money and not to get the opponents to fold so I need to adjust my play so I can bluff. Dunno how tho.

I seem to not be able to fold worse flushes. Really bad money sinks.

Edit: Is it wrong to call an all-in (1 in 4 equity for the call) with a flush draw and a gutshot straight draw? Just got called a fish for that.

I won the pot with a backdoor 2-pair. He went all-in with top pair post-flop.
