    GG's Lance - the Diplomat (300)

Nothing too special. Named "The Diplomat" because I think Layarian Diplomat is the 2nd Best 2cc ally in SE behind Karash. Katrin the Shieldmaiden comes in 3rd of course. I have a very high win rate when going first. I have a decent win rate going second.

    [UPDATED 2-05-14]

    1 Hero + 41 cards
    1x Lance

    [20 Allies]
    3x Layarian Diplomat
    2x Puwen Bloodhelm
    1x Champion of Irum
    2x Layarian Seductress
    3x Aldon the Brave
    1x Fleet-footed Messenger
    2x Rider of Ellos
    2x Aeon Stormcaller------------------ Any Combo:
    2x Braxnorian Soldier------OR------- Aeon/Brax/Paladin/Raven/Sandworm/Earthen Protector
    2x Paladin of Unaxio -----------------
    1x Earthen Protector------------------

    [10 Items]
    4x Ill-Gotten Gains
    4x Anklebreaker
    1x Spelleater Bands
    1x Night Prowler

    [11 abilities]
    3x Assassination
    2x Treasured Heirloom
    4x Stop, Thief!
    1x Sever Ties
    1x A Legend Rises

This deck is fairly straight forward, but it takes a handful of games to really learn how to use this deck. There are a couple tricks/mind games that you can play in the opening that you can only really learn by playing it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

    -1 raven -1 brax +2 aeon

I personally like aeon because of the fact if you don't deal with him. There will be an army behind him.

Also, why sever ties? Why not just 2 ALRs and +1 somewhere else.
I'm assuming sever ties is for the heavy amber meta. I think that even without SEver as long as u have stop thief u can keep those warriors in check

That was a typo. I looked in my deck and there is only 1 sever ties. I'll bump up to 2x ALR as you suggested.

People have been telling me to not focus on blood frenzy so much o.O... now I understand.... I haven't lost to an amber with this deck since you told me that so far. Zero sever ties. I'm so used to playing as zhanna where I'm trying to get card advantage.

I traded in late game aeon for elad matchup

thank you for the feedback. its helping a lot.

well-roundedness is my kind of style. i dont mind giving up the late game dominance for better odds against elad/maj/nish/gb/+layarian seductress

now i gotta find a way to squeeze in that 3rd garb for more consistent early game going 2nd.

Also you generally don't need 4 assassinates. I've seen decks run 2 with no black garb. Therefore 2-3 with black garb is plenty.

Lance is a exception from the other heroes, he doesn't need that much draw because of his quality cards that already have huge imapct and/or can take board multiply times. Stol Theif also makes you less need of draw engine as it ramps for you without saccing cards and Night Owl that replaces himself when killed. I currently running only 5 card draw in my build and haven't found that I need more.

Why on Earth would you play diplomat as a t2 drop?

    To kill karash, of course.
But drop diplomat only if you have another diplomat, aldon, or TH on hand. Otherwise it is just a waste of card.

karash can be a big problem for lance since your ankle breaker will not work for it.
Unlike mage and hunter, rouge lacks cheap ability card.
And hasting an ally to just kill karash seems ridiculous.

Another reason for T2 diplomat is that you want to drop IGG on T4 and kill opponent ally to draw.
If you have aldon and diplomat, you can kill every 3cc ally.
If you fall behind on early game, often you just cannot bring back the game and just lose.

You might think, if you drop diplomat on T2, why not puwen?
Of course puwen is better for T2, but he is pretty much useless in late game.
diplomat can be used throughout the game. The main targets are night shade, wulven savage, oracle, armord, champion, karash, not to mention stealth allies.

I used to run 3 diplomat and went up to 322.
After a while, for some reason I could not find a good use of him, so I don't use him now.
As a result, my rating has dropped to 317. I wonder if I should use diplomat again.
