furion Terror and morbid acolyte

I am not positive about this one but i used morbid acolytes ability on furion terror and then i think my morbid acolyte died and then i tried to do fire damage to the furion terror but it did 0

does morbid acolyte only have its ability in effect when it is still in play now?

Jasmine's ability remains even if she isn't on the board. It was suppose to change BUT not anymore
