I agree with him on this. But in the dotp, i was surprised that the first mulligan is free. In a paper tournament, your first mulligan would be six cards. I dont know why they messed up the rules in ipad and in the paper.

Maybe because the dotp meta is limited. What about PvP in dotp? Does a mulligan reduce hand by 1 card?

By the way, this is not the first time we are having this discussion but repeating a point I stated before: mulligan or shuffle function without penalty is not always great.

It gives rise to comborific decks like perfect elad rush, millstalker locks, Gwen ss bow/rf/itf combo decks, GB VoW DoT decks, is that what players want?

That's why in "most" ccgs, there is a -1 when mulligan is activated.

Yes, every time you do a mulligan you get 1 less card from your starting hand. you could stop your mulligan if you are already satisfied with your hand.
Im not quite sure about the meta since you can only use pre-constructed decks when dueling in dotp. so i think its not related with the mulligan.

I suggested this ages ago. But proposed that the button only work every say 7 games so it was impossible to abuse. For those times you draw a hand full of weapons etc. Alternatively one less card and 5 less life. Whatever puts people off of using it to be even more annoying with their amber, elad or darkclaw decks.

(PS, every time you mulligan in MtG you draw 1 less total card. The more you mulligan, the smaller your hand becomes. Can't recall if you do that the first time or the second time though.
The current mulligan option in SE is Word of the Prophet.

    Yeah.

Tbh, mtg is the grandfather tcg of all (I know others existed before it) and the rulebook is like a freaking bible-thick block of endless text. It's consistent and mtg, by now, has pretty much covered all angles and blind spots. That's why it's still king: consistent rules, in touch with what community wants, balance (well it tries to), modern.

Sure, it has it's problems. But it has decided to stick to what works for them.

Not a bad game! Great ui, AI, and really fun alternative formats, puzzles, animation, art.
