Yes, you can use a different hero on the second day. (Some might be better at side-boarding than others, and you might learn something about your opponents from Day 1.)

After our 16 players have been determined, they will play in two separate events. The first will be held on Saturday Nov 23rd and will be a double elimination event, with deck-lock, no sideboards, best-of-three, with a best-of-five final. The second event will take place on Sunday Nov 24th and will be a double elimination event, with deck-lock, a 10 card sideboard, best-of-three, with a best-of-five final. The exact start time of these 2 events is TBD.

If the winner of the 2 events is the same person, they will be crowned the 2013 World Champion on the spot. If, however, both events have a separate winner then they will be play off in a grueling best-of-seven match with deck-lock and a 10 card sideboard. The two can bring whatever deck and sideboard they want to the best-of-seven meaning preparation will be crucial here! The exact date of this best-of-seven (if it is needed) is TBD.

Yes, sideboards can only be used for games 2 and 3 of your bo3 set.

I presume all games will be checked? Can I also suggest players and TOs to remind each other regarding decklist before each game so that hopefully no one gets DQed due to mistakes in decklist.
