We're proud to announce that after months of intense development, Project Jasmine has started rolling out onto the live servers. This is a completely new networking system for Shadow Era, based on an Authoritative Socket Server. This marks one of the most major improvements in the game's history!

Jasmine Features

  • view your opponent's moves instantly, meaning much shorter game times
  • better connection stability
  • less chance of sync errors
  • more security to prevent hacking and cheating

As this is a huge change to how the game operates, we are rolling it out in phases, beginning with the web version at http://game.shadowera.com . If all goes well, it will be followed by Android, and then all other platforms.

Full change list for v2.022 is below.

Bug Fixes

  • [SE-456] - Assassin's Cloak affect heroes
  • [SE-546] - Dimension Ripper triggers with Rabid Bite
  • [SE-567] - Celestial Armor needs an indicator which ally was buffed
  • [SE-608] - Retreat + Treasured Heirloom and full hand causes crash
  • [SE-609] - Cancelled attachment targeting leaves the attachment on top
  • [SE-610] - Clearing negative effects sometimes still doesn't let you use the card
  • [SE-611] - Cards can be autocast after using a hero ability
  • [SE-614] - Negative effects should happen first
  • [SE-616] - Cards should go to graveyard in a predefined order
  • [SE-618] - Attachment remains large and covers the entire screen

Improvements

  • [SE-593] - Complete the foil masking for DP foils

UPDATE: The Android version has been submitted to the Play Store and should be appearing shortly, or you can grab it directly at http://cdn.wulven.com/ShadowEra20220.apk

UPDATE 3: The server has been hotfixed to fix 5 issues of edge cases that could cause games to be left in limbo, as well as some other rare issues. I have also been testing on Chrome so it doesn't appear to be browser specific. An update for the Android client is in testing and should be pushed live in a few hours...

In the past 4 days there have been more than 18,000 matches played, and as far as I can gather from the server logs and database only about 132 of those were bugged, or about 0.7%. So with the stability further improved now, things are looking pretty good.

Please keep the chatter out of the announcement threads, there are plenty of other threads for that. The topic should remain on Jasmine and reporting of bugs.

UPDATE 4: Thanks to Gondorian, the live server has been hotfixed to fix several issues related to battles with players with Epic Avatars (* next to their name). If a * tries to join a game, both players will be stuck at the "Waiting for players" screen. If a * created a game, they could play but the game would not end properly, possibly stuck with a hero at 0 HP.

Please try again if you have been having issues and report any remaining problems so we can track them down and squash those bugs!
