Been reading this all the way through and basically this is my conclusion:

You found a glitch. There was a fix available but you made the conscious decision not to use that fix and instead continue to exploit the glitch. Anything said after that point is irrelevant. This is black and white, you cheated and now you're trying to justify it.

This is my view only however.

Working around the glitch like you did is fine while everyone was glitches. When it got fixed you should have updated. That's all there is to it really.
