Error Contacting Server. Please Try Again.

Ok, I have read through the forums and none of the posted remedies seem to be working for me. I was playing last night late, but this morning I cannot connect with my ipad or iphone. What's more, I tried to log in online and it indicated that my email address did not have an account associated with it. In fact, I was then able to register the email address as a new account.

So now I can log in online, but still cannot connect with iphone or ipad. I then tried downloading the mac client - same result. Then I tried the web interface. Same result. I then tried iphone after turning off wi-fi and connecting via 4g LTE on my iphone - still no dice. What could the problem be?
