Wulven Apprentice - Week 1 - Voting and Results

Hi everyone. Further to the recent announcement of the candidates and teams, I'm pleased to now share details of the first task they were set and what each team has produced.

    Task 1 Details

The Task: Work together in your team to produce resources aimed at helping new and intermediate players, particularly those who have either not used the forum or are new to the forum. The resources could be articles, tools, decks, guides, videos, audio - anything really, providing the aim is to help players get into the game and stick with it.

External help: You may reference other existing work. Don't reinvent the wheel - add value to what's already there or create new things to meet otherwise unmet needs.

Format: It's up to you whether you do it as forum posts or videos or audio file or whatever. If you want to host webpages and don't have any space to do that, Gondorian can help in that regard.

Reason: Shows off organisation, co-ordination, understanding the customer base, team-working, presentation, confidentiality, attention to detail, standards of quality. What is produced should also end up valuable beyond the contest, so it will deliver real value to the community for your hard work in this first week.

Confidentiality: This task will not be revealed to the public until you are finished producing your resources, so please keep the task confidential. People will then use what you made and vote for which team they think did the best.

Support: Each team will either have Gondorian or Mojumbo available to help with any questions or logistical issues.

Winner: 80% determined by public poll, 20% by Wulven judges.

    Task 1 Submissions

Both teams decided to produce websites. Please check them out via the links below, make use of them and consider which you think delivers best on what was asked of the teams.

    Nocturnal Advantage
    (a.k.a. Team GMT-)
    Tomm (Project Manager),
    Brandon, Caleb, Sam, Sean

    Random Heroes
    (a.k.a. Team GMT+)
    Shawn (Project Manager),
    Daryl, Jazz, Stefano, Steven

    Task 1 Results?

The winning team will be determined mostly by public poll, which opens in 24 hours from the time of this post, and partially by judges at Wulven (80% and 20%, respectively). The judging should ideally be done based on the task that was assigned, but if you wish to use other criteria to choose your favorite then that's your call.

    Voting will be open
Friday 9pm GMT to Sunday 9pm GMT

(Tapatalk users will need to visit the forum website to vote in the poll.)

Please feel free to use this thread to discuss any aspect of this first task, but note that comments below will not affect the results. You will need to vote to affect the outcome.

Random Heroes is my vote. I think their site has several advantages:

    - Smart choice in color schemes allow for easier reading
    - Sticking to HTML web pages rather than PDFs (more maintainable in the long run)
    - Made good use of screenshots for easier guidance of new players
    - Categorization of sections of the website is easy to follow for new players
    - and most importantly, made use of my article on how to join tournaments

Kudos to both teams though in making a great effort for the community.

Nice efforts. The starter deck progression guides were a good idea from NA. RH having Firesnake on very page is obviously OP.

We have to appease the great Snake. We even gave him the Epic Avatar treatment, because he demanded it be so.
