Actually why do people like the Champ of Irum? It is weak and expensive, maximum attack power is only 3. I would rather get the cheap Barbarian at 100 gold and power 3 health 4.

The 2 vs 3 resources only makes a difference during game start. After that, it is mostly irrelevant. And to start off with only 1 attack, how is that good?

2 vs 3 resources applies for the entire game so I don't see how it can be irrelevant. Besides, even if it only applies for early game, that alone is still a significant difference. You compare between allies of the same cost. If not, obviously any ally costing more is going to be stronger. By your reasoning, Rider of Ellos makes Barbarian useless since he has higher stats and "3 vs 4 resources only makes a difference during game start".
And Champion gets buffed for any 3cc or more ally on your opponent's side so as long as there is one, he has 2/4 stats which is better than Puwen, the 2cc ally he can actually be compared to. Obviously, both have occasions where they are more useful than the other but Champion is way more playable than you think.
If the opponent has no resource 3 units, the Champ is just an expensive attack 1 unit. Even Puwen will eat him for breakfast.
If the opponent has 1 or 2 resource 3 units, the Champ alone is not good enough to beat these units.
If the opponent only uses weapons or spells with no allies, the Champ is just an attack 1 unit.
Is such a unit worth the cost?
You can't expect a cost 2 unit to beat cost 3 units consistently on his own, otherwise he would be overpowered. But the fact remains is that if your opponent has even a single cost 3 ally (even if it's disabled), Champion is the 2CC with the highest base stats.
Again, as mentioned, there are obviously cases where other 2CC allies are stronger than Champion. That is game balance. If Champion was superior in all cases, again, he would be OP. This thread isn't even about how strong Champion is. I just responded to your flawed reasoning in your first post.

The assumption your opponent isn't going to have a 3cc or higher ally on the board is pretty weak, because they almost certainly will. which makes champ a 2/4. usually good enough that the 3cc ally can't one shot him. put your own Aldon on the board and he Champ is a 3/4. later in game, he comes out for 2cc so he fit on the board while making other plays. He isn't the most powerful ally in the game, but he is actually pretty damn good. He fits in multiple builds and when compared to all other 2cc allies such as Dirk or the new Layarian guy, he is much better. You can make argument both ways compared to Puwen, but odds are you will have both Puwen and Champion in your deck anyway so there is no need to compare.
Lol I just sold 1 of mine, I guess it got picked up pretty fast.
