Foil quality - past and current

Hi guyz,

I am relatively new to SE,playing for about 2 months.
Completely love this game btw

But now,back to topic.
I am not sure if this is a right column for this topic,but i must say it.
I feel bit sad (and I am sure than "I am NOT the one and only") when i see current view quality of foil cards.
Weren't the cards shining and changing its color before DP?
Now it happens only for a short time if you click the card and its moving.
The second problem is the new "color fog" covering the DP foil cards.
I know its nothing what decreases the game quality but for me for the visual quality is very important,too!
For example I am sure lot of players are buying booster packs and hoping they will get some foil,and I am sure lot of them are bit disappointed too,when they see DP foils,especially if they have the possibility to compare old(COTC) and new(DP) foil.

Do anybody know if it is going to be "repaired" in future?

Cuz it makes me really sad now

Hopefully they will fix them with next software update; I'm also quite disappointed with new effects, but they said it's a matter of time before they will look as good as CotC ones.

The devs have stated that the DP foils will be fixed - it's just a time consuming process to isolate the "non-foil" areas of the artwork. I assume that they will be fixed in the next update. So bottom line, yes, they will be repaired

As far as I know the "foil effect" was changed to the way it is now to better represent how foils work in the physical game and are staying that way for now. Personally, I would like an option to bring back the motion for those who enjoyed it (and to turn it off for those who didn't).

As for the "fog", as mentioned above, this is something being worked on and will be added in another update. They are not supposed to have just the foil effect over the artwork, however, its so time consuming that they also didn't want to hold Dark Prophecies back simply because of that.

I have reported this about 1 month ago, Kyle mentioned they will fix it, but still unsure of when will that happen.

As far as I know, the whole "fog" over the DP foils will be fixed in the next update (2.01). As others have said, it was merely a matter of masking out the character or item on the card to be non-foiled so it would stand out like on CotC foils, but this would have held back DP from being released live, so they just decided to update this in later.

As for the foil effect for even CotC foils not being the same spinning effect as before, this I am glad about, as it is much more realistic to what a real foil card would be, plus not as distracting in game.

Originally the foil would shift and move all the time, and I personally thought that this was pretty cheesy, as in real life you only see holofoil cards flicker/shimmer when you tilt and move them. I noticed this in the update, and liked the change.

As for the "fog", they just haven't gotten the time to modify that. In most COTC cards the foreground (hero, ally, etc) was normal and the background was holofoil, so the picture seems to pop out more while still having an epic foil effect. They probably just havent finished deciding what areas of the new cards will be non-foil and which will be foiled, so the whole card is foil for now.
