What about using Molten Destroyer or Darkwood Wraith instead of Kairos?

I used Molten Destroyer in my 1.5 Banebow as my heavy hitter, alongside Shadow Knight, and it was, indeed, a good fit for the deck, largely due to the fact that it set things ablaze and dealt the retributory damage, softening up allies to kill with Banebow's Fire Arrows and/or other pinging elements. However, with the inclusion of The Perfect Shot and Feathered Longbow, I don't see its ability as much a necessity anymore.

Let's say, for simplicity's sake, that Kairos' passive "avenger" ability is on par with Molten Destroyer's passive ability in terms of power. Add to that the fact that Molten Destroyer can be Retreat!ed, and dies to a much broader range of damage combinations and abilities, and I felt that paying (1) more was well worth Kairos' extra health and steadfast ability.

As far as Darkwood Wraith is concerned, I have mixed feelings. It certainly is a good card, but removing Kairos for it would take away the deck's later-game punch, with no other fatties included. However, I'm not directly against its inclusion, and I see it as a preference call, and not one with a clear cut superiority of one over the other.

Any thoughts on using Scourge Colossus in place of Kairos? (Sorry if you addressed this already, didn't see it earlier in the thread).

I suppose he is a viable option, and could be useful against certain matchups.

One reason I'm such a fan of Kairos is that he typically survives two medium-sized allies' direct attacks. So you've got to throw extra effort into killing him directly.

He's also Retreat! and Dagger of Unmaking-proof. That's nice for an ally that costs (6).

    YMMV

It's a good card, and I've seen it used in very good Banebow decks, but I've (personally) always seen it as too resource intensive in this style of Banebow. Try it in lieu of Kairos and see how it works for you.
