Probably to go against the grain. Guardian's Oath is also better used with Victor when defending, but it's more due to the first reason; seeing the same old heroes used repeatedly is dull.

This is an old thread. At the time Victor was actually better than Gwen with Beetle Demon Bow, since Gwen doubled damage rather than adding 2.

So Victor with Beetle Demon did 2 on attack and 2 on defense, while Gwen did 2 on attack and 1 on defense.

Since the update Gwen is 3 on attack and 1 on defense, so pretty much better than ol' Victor.

(edit oh yeah and better with Gaurdian Oath too back then. Thanks Mr. or Ms. Skunk)

Ah, this must be the full reason then. I wasn't aware of the abilities being different back then.
