Playing VS Wulven 3 drop Lightning hunter opening

Hi guys,

I need a little help. I started to notice a pattern in my games. Whenever I paly VS Wulven and they get the first turn if the following opening occures the game is just over "3 drop on turn 3 (acolyte or gargoyl or death collector) and turn 4 Lightning hunter". This gives them the option to insta kill every 3 drop I can play and creates SO much board presence so early ( I'm still @ 3 resources), I have no idea how to deal with that with elemental.

Even if i get to mind controll the hunter turn 5 he is so far ahead and a single shadow knight will seal the deal.

I would appreciate any help how elemental can deal with this opening.

Mind control is not a good card when you are behind on the board, instead use the following

If you are playing Zaladar
T4 Shadow Font + ability (kill the damaged creature , damage the other one)
T5 Furrion Terror + ability = Clear enemy board + 4/3 creature

If you are playing Elementalis (assuming you where unable to cast a T2 Ironhide Karash)
T5 Darwood Wraith + ability = a 3/8 creature vs a lightning hunter

Let me tell u that the opening you mention is not the ideal one for any wulven deck using LH.

Lightning Hunters are finishers, or last resource moves. They need to be extremely well timed with what you have on board and the use of your Shadow Energy.
I will hardly play a LH on T4 if i can prevent it (and Wulven's have many other ways to deal with an opp 3 drop (NYM, a weapon + the attack of your own 3cc, CP, etc).
Besides, probbly the Wulven player dropped a T2 Blood Moon, and he's surely very unwilling to break it at T4 (by playing LH) just to kill your 3 cc. I would, at least, wait for T5 to do it, so i could use BM until the end.

Anyway, in the possibility that he does drop it at T4 (giving him probbly more disadvantage than advantage), Zaladar can deal with it easy, with ability+DMT for the LH kill, or the approaches Greymouser spoke about.

With elementalis T3 play a gargoyle. LH and Morbid acolyte can't kill it. If their T3 was death collector you will need to boost the gargoyle (may not be worth it if he throws a you're mine out).

OFC the other option is a T2 Ironhide, followed by something on T3. So you play IH, he plays Morbid, You attack morbid for 2 with IH, bring on a DMT and ping MA. He can kill potenrially both but it is isn't too likely and MA will die. If he drops death collector its even easier if you have IK- boost on turn 3+bloodthirsty or DMT and its dead. Hard to fault old ironhide for Turn 2, and he is even better for the two elemental heroes than for opponents (because elementalis' IK can kill opposing ones and Zaladar can kill IH easily).

Otherwise, as mentioned, T5 deepwood wraith can do the job and is very handy against moonstalker in general.
