The idea of the Article is "most bang for buck", just spending $19.99 and getting a holistic feel of what SE is about; being able to try and play all heroes and be at least able to win some games on QM and not get pwned too often (no one likes getting pwned too often)
It's like learning to be an artist: first, you emulate the Master and pick up the skills at the academy, then when the student has the required skills, he can create his own masterpiece, i.e. his own deck.
