It may have been mentioned here already, but back in CotC day, before the new set released, I think it was fellow guildmate Painful_Smile who built a Portal

Maj deck solely from using the free starter deck you get w your account (Shadow Mage) and using the two methods of getting the free 100SC (for 200 in total) he bought a second Shadow Mage starter deck and an Elemental starter deck.

After selling off all extras and unneeded cards from those three starter decks, he was able to build a Portal

Maj deck that he played, undefeated, up into the mid-300s range.

Point being, it's really cool to have 4x all the cards, but you can be very competitive with $0 invested, too, if you know what you're doing.

Starter decks always humans. no shadow.

I climbed pretty high in Cotc with this, no $$$ needed: (notes: does not work now; for various reasons)

You can't get a Shadow Mage with the free starter deck with the game account. Only Human starters. And then, bonus SCs are still available, but not anymore.

But I started till now with $0 invested too.

Okay, I guess he bought a Human Mage deck, and then used the bonus SC to buy a Shadow Mage and Elemental deck.

Point still stands. If you're awesomtastic, you can dominate with $0 invested.

Actually I have played SE almost half year, mainly play with Zhanna

and Zaladar

Every time I tried to build a new deck, I got to sell some cards for gold......
As the card sold for the half of buying price....My card pool was always limited....
and I have to admit that I spent too much gold on those "not too useful" cards......lol

Started to get a bit bored with Zhanna

and Zaladar

....I would like to try out other heroes....
and again....not enough gold....instead of selling out all my cards for gold....
I decided to create a new acc, spent a smal amount of money to buy all the basic cards.

The suggested decks are great, really solid and easy to handle.
After playing around with them, I concentrate on Boris

at this moment.
Those DP new cards like Dragon Tooth , Artful Squire

and Spectral Sabre

,
just filled all the holes of human warriors.

I dun mind to spend this small amount of money to get a great restart,
as I dun have time to grind gold and exp from the AI..........
With those basic cards, enough for me to play a very very very very long time!

Yeah, that's exactly why I started this $19.99 series. To get people spending money on SE. Cos it's really much much much easier than grinding. I would rather spend my time working to get more real life $$$.

And yeah, $19.99 really goes very far.
