Would anyone be interested in something like this?

    yu-gi-oh-duel-disc-launcher.jpg
i've just finished studying electronics and looking for viable projects to start. this seems like an interesting project. building the required electronic parts would be time consuming but information on how are easily found on the web. i would need someone to craft me the bay though as i don't have knowledge in crafting plastic or similar materials. theoretically it's possible to install a bar code reader for when Wulven decides to roll out electronically readable cards. also possible to add bluetooth or wifi connectivity so two or more bays can connect and have a game. card stats such as hp, attack, etc can be viewed via a digital counter. even a small LCD screen can be added. a cheap model can be made, with mechanical counters instead of digital counters.

would be crazy if some big company rolled out a touch screen version wherein you just lay down the cards on the screen and depending on how you move, tap, slide, etc. the cards, certain actions would be performed.

uhh, have you never watched YuGiOh? it's a docking bay for playing cards. you slot the cards in and if it has bar codes, it will be read and fancy things such as digital counters and LCD screens can be added to make physical play a breeze. no need for bean counters and shit. even without bar codes to scan, the digital counters can be adjusted manually.

There're slots for your deck / graveyard

In anime it can auto shuffle and create hologram of card when you set them

Yep, just what I always wanted. A big, clumsy arm attachment that I can buy for $100+ to digitally record stats for a card game rather than spending $20 on two handfuls of dice or $5 on pencils and a pad of paper.
Congratulations to Preybird for designing my Avatar!
