Mind control + Molten Destroyer

Hi,

When my Mind Control killed (not "damaged to death") the Destroyer, I took 1 damage. I know the process for a kill includes a loss of all the remaining Health but it doesn't sound right to receive this damage from the Destroyer anyway. "Kill" and "damage" are two different concepts.

Actually, in Shadow Era "Kill" means dealing enough damage to bring the ally's life to zero. So killing effects actually deal damage. I know this is different from other card games such as Magic the Gathering, so I can understand the confusion.

I've never played Magic and I too sort of found this a little strange. But eitherway, you can't kill something without causing some sort of damage somewhere, so in that sense it makes perfect sense.

I'd ask in the rule section. Its possible that the "source" of the damage could be either one in that case. Though I'm going to guess its the hero and not kristoffer because the card Assassination came from the hero. (which doesn't line up flavor wise, but this is why I would ask.)

Kris dies if you use assassination.

Yup...along those lines holy shield protects against all damage, which nullifies mind control (though it still attacks owner), assassination and tidal wave. So if kris used an assassination on a molten destroyer with holy shield...both would survive (also that scenario is only possible in meltdown).
