Lever outside, pressure plate inside is clever and easy so that mobs can't get into your house. They cannot use levers but can activate pressure plates. So, pressure plates on both sides is not a very good idea if you are playing survival I think. Buttons work best probably because they close by themselves when you open them after some seconds. I didn't know that until very recently.

Right. Btw zombies can't bash in iron doors?

I read they can't. Actually I'm playing at easy mode survival (Imma noob), so I think they can't break wooden doors either

If I was playing at "hard", I think they can break wooden doors. Next world probably gonna be at either normal or hard mode though.

Well, your complex and my complex might be different

I'm a casual player, so I don't want to examine and replicate redstone diagrams just to open iron doors. I know NOW, it ONLY is needed when you want to put levers on both sides though.

i sometimes, and ONLY, play minecraft for the redstone. i've made a adventure game or two as well. (one is complete, although old and i'm not sure if it still functions properly with the latest update. i'll post it though if y'all want.)

to me, the appeal is not making stuff. it's watching other people interact with my creations. which is why my creations tend to be exclusively redstone oriented. things like traps, locks, timers, clocks, moving walls. you name it, i've probably created a version of it. (with the exception of a computer or a monitor. i have not, and will not make those things. my time is too precious.)

some examples of things i've made:
- self-enforcing drowning traps. as long as you don't struggle, you don't die. if struggle even for a second however, you drown.
- a simple hedge maze game with different clocks and timers. you pick a setting, and then you begin the game. each setting has a different par time, and the longer portion of that par time you spend in the maze, the more prizes are locked once you reach the end. (once again, if you'd like this, you can ask.)
- a rapid fire pulser (soon to be obsolete due to redstone patch) that makes dispensers shoot objects at around 3 objects a second. fun with spawner eggs.
- logic puzzles. simple combinations of doors, locks, and gates can be set up to create thoroughly aggravating logic puzzles. i take my inspiration for these from my favorite game series ever, Myst.
-PIN locks.

I'd be interested in an adventure map if working on current version if you'd like to share (though I probably can't play it right away) but would care for screenies as well, as that is the purpose of the thread actually.

So I assume making computers or monitors take a lot of time?
