SHADOWERASHOP cash tournament plans

Hi everyone,

We from shadowerashop.com are thinking to launch monthly cash tournaments. Without having a lot of online tournament experience, we ask you, the player, what you would like.

Since all entering players are already quite online veterans. Tell us your experiences and what kind of format, rules or tourney system you would advise. We might up the entree fee to make it a small and highly competitve highroller event for example. Let us know what you want!

We are thinking something in the line of a poker system, money distribution wise. And publishing top4 or top8 decklists afterwards

nice idea of a competitive tournament there.
I would suggest standard tournament rules:

Bo3 or Bo5
Hero lock. Deck + Sidedeck. (40+12?)
You can change your deck after every match in a bo3/bo5 so players can react based on what they face.
Draws will be replayed etc.

What methods are you using to collect and distribute money, do you have any credibility why should I trust you with prize money, places like magic online have large companies behind them and use secure and trusted methods like PayPal. Remember that there are transaction fees so small entry fees will cost you more than large entry fees will. Also Keep in mind magic online don't pay out in cash, your planning too, so what are the legalities when it comes to this. Will it be illegal to play if you live in certain countries or states, where some gambling is illegal ? Again magic online bypasses this by not paying out cash but even then some states your not allowed to play in magic online , some things like gamebattles, you can't play when you live in Arizona and some other states. What kind of rake are you planning on taking, 10 , 20 percent? Have you discussed these Tournaments with wulven do you have their support !


If you do plan on running these, constructed or meltdown, on live server(to avoid bugs) best of 3, pop up style(all in one day) with a dedicated TO. If you get enough players Swiss tournament with cut to top 8.(still all in one day)

Saturday's are good cause people generally have the day off, try to vary start times from tournament to tournament for various time zones.

I don't mind Shadow Crystals or Redeemable Codes instead.
I am sure if you open a shop, you will open booster boxes and hence you have tonnes of codes lying around in your shop.
