Alternate art heroes in Dark Prophecies!

We're excited to announce for the first time today that the Dark Prophecies expansion will contain the heroes from the base set Call of the Crystals - but with alternate art! We brought back one of the most talented Shadow Era artists for a new take on the heroes and how they have changed since the first set.



The reasoning is simple: we want to make it possible to play the game only by purchasing Dark Prophecies, and also simplifying popular limited formats such as meltdown. People will be able to choose the number of CotC or DP packs to play with, and your opponent may have a different distribution than you.

In Dark Prophecies, the heroes, rares and epics will also be available in foil versions from booster packs, with a 1 in 5 chance of replacing a common card.

Oh wow, absolutely awesome!!! As if I wasn't already excited for the expansion to come out, now I want it even more so that I can see all these alternate artworks. I especially wonder how Zaladar and Nishaven (two of my favorite hero arts already) will look. Great job with this idea Wulven!

Will there be non-foil copies of the Heroes available as well in the booster packs?

AND WHERE ARE THE OTHER HEROES!

Edit: Also, could we get new flavor text on them? It's not that I dislike the old text, I just think we should get more lore to explain the new looks
