The Shadowmon Competition (Sign up + first rules)

The admins of this event are Painful_smile and Deja Vu

The tournament format I planned at first is not finish to launch at this point. I will keep the idea for a later stage.
So everyone, who wanted to help me as a Gym leader will not be needed for this tournament, but maybe for a later one.
Thanks anyway for your help. You can play here if you wanna do me another favour.

The rules seems to be complicated and long, but actually they are not. A lot of the rules is trivial.

    Short version of the rules:
    -Bo3 single elimination
    - no deck lock
    - hero restriction: you can only use the heroes that are in your team
    - everyone starts with 1 hero
    - you can use Shadowballs to "catch" new heroes that are then added to your team.
    - Every hero has a life counter, whitch is at (-0) at the start of the tournament, that means it has full life
    - Everytime you use a hero in a match, the life counter goes down by 1
    - between rounds you can trade heroes or items with other players
    - there are some events where stuff happens
    - Prize money:
1st 30$ (payout by paypall only) + 8 Badges for the Indigo League
2nd: 2000 SC + 8 Badges for the Indigo League

    Long Version:

If someone has to drop out of the tournament for personal reasons, after it started already, he can declare a replacement to take over his/her current statue and continue the tournament.

This replacement must not be in this tournament at any time and must fulfill the criteria.

    Rules:

This is a Single elimination tournament on the test Server. Every round will be bo3. The size of the tournament will be 32,64,... player depending on how many sign up we get. When there are less than 32 sign ups, the evetn is canceled. The selection will then be in the FCFS concept.

There is neither a deck nor a Hero lock. However you can only use the Heroes that are in your team with the current health number.

Counting minus Life is simple. If one hero has -2 life for example, the game ends, when this hero has 2 life left. As always in Shadowera, healing comes before damage in case of DOTs and HOTs (damage / healing over time).

    Example:
Misty's Eladwen goes into a battle with -2 life. If at any time in the game, Eladwen health count is 2 or below, Misty loses the game.

Also the RNB rules are in effect.

    Preperations and Sign-Up

Every Player can chose 1 starting hero and gets some starting Items. There will be a tournament tree. The seedings are completely random. Also between some rounds there will be some events.

With the Signup you state that you understand and agree to the rules. You sign up with your Forum name (where you can be reached
throughout the tournament and with your Test Server ingame name
    (IGN).
Then you have time to send a pm with your starting hero choice to me (painful_smile) in this forum. Make sure to give that pm
    a meaningful title.

    For example:
    Lt. Surge
wants to sign up with Nishaven as starting hero. So he makes a post in the Sign-up thread like this:
    “I am in.
    Forumname: Lt. Surge
    IGN: Raichu”

Then he sends a PM in the Shadowera forum to painful_smile like this:
    Title:
    “Pokemon tournament”
    Content:
    “Forumname:
    Lt. Surge

    IGN: Raichu

    Starting hero: Nishaven

After the Sign-Up is closed, we cannot accept changes in the starting hero. The date of the Forum post counts as Sign-up for the FCFS –Cocept.
Important: Every person can only sign up once. Detection of multi accounts in this tournament will lead to a disqualification and a ban
from all of my future events.

    Tournament-Run:

When a round starts you will see the details / status of every player participating in the tournament on first Side of the tournament thread. There will also be the brackets and the deadlines for every round.
In addition to that you might found important announcement and rules there.
Since the tournament organizer (TO) have the right to change the rules at any time, we will inform you about rule changes, etc also on the first side.
    Format: Forum-Name – IGN – hero(life) – items - money

    Example:
    Brock - Geodude – Logan (-2) - 1 pokeball, 2 potion – 1000 Gold
    Misty- Staryu – Eladven (-4) – 1 potion – 250 gold

After a new round starts, every player has to contact the opponent as soon as possible to arrange a time to play the opponent. If you
get no answer from your opponent and/or it is impossible to arrange a playing time in the deadline, you have to contact one Tournament admin. He then makes a incontestable decision.
Both player then meet in irc channel #shadowera in the freenode network. The top seeded player decides whether he wants to have Heads or Tails. Then he types “.coin” or “.flip” in the irc chat and the player who guesses right creats and begins the first match.

The other one then creates and begins the second match.

Should the be a thrid match, the lower seeded player choses Heads or Tails and then .coins in the #shadowera channel.

    Important:

After every match a player uses a hero, it loses 1 life.

    Example:
Brock choses Logan as starting Hero and faces Misty's Eladwen in the first round.
    Brock wins the first game.
So in the second game both Heroes have -1 life.

    Brock wins again.
So he wins the first round and his Logan has -2 life.

After the games are played, both (!) player have to report the result in the thread. By reporting you confirm that the games were played according the rules and the result is valid.

If the report of 2 player is different, a Tournament admin will make a decision. If only 1 player reports, that report counts and is
    valid.
(Beware: Ripping matches or breaking rules intentionally can lead to a disqualification!)
After the result is declared as valid, no player has the right to
    claim any revision.

    Example report:
    “Brock 1:2 Misty
    Eladwen(-1) 1:0 Zaladar(-2)
    Logan(-0) 0:1 Zaladar(-3)
Misty uses a potion on Zaladar.
    Eladwen(-2) 0:1 Zaladar (-0)
I am using a Pokeball to catch Logan.”

The several Items will explained at a later stage but the usage of Items has to be reported in the match report post.

After everyone played, the round will be declared as finished and after a short break time, the next round will begin.
There will be a timelimit for every round, however the tournament admins can decide to extend this timelimit if there are good reasons.

    Break time:

In every break time it is possible for every player, that is still in the tournament to trade Heroes or items.
There will be a trading thread where everyone can make offers. If 2 Player agree to a deal, they both have to post it in the main
Eventthread and the Tournament admins will make the transaction.
Every player can only make 1 transaction per Break time!
In addition to the possibility to trade, there will be some events that are also done in the break time.

This hero will then join your team with (-3) Life on their counter. You can use the Shadowball only after a bo3 is played completely and you do it by posting it together with your result. Once the result is declared as valid the decision to use the Shadowball is done and can not be changed

    Example:
Brock won first round against Misty with 2:0. Brock used Banebow and Misty used Eladwen. Now Brock can use Pokeball on the Eladwen. And for next round he can either use Banebow with -2 life (chipped by the two games in first round) or Eladwen with -3
    life (catched from Misty).

    Items (examples):

Shadowball - With Shadowballs you can catch 1 Hero your opponent used in the previous round (with -3 life) or a wild Pokemon (with full life) to make your team bigger.
You can use the Shadowball after a bo3 to catch one of the Hero your Opponent used with -3 life. (full life of the Hero minus three not current life minus three).

If you want to use a Shadowball you have to declare it in the result post. Later declaration are not permitted. (view example before)
You can not catch a Hero inbetween a bo3. In Addition there will be events where wild hero appear. You can also use your Shadowball then to catch them with full life.

Potion - heals one hero for up to 3 life. You cannot split the healing to more than one hero and you can not gain more than max life. You are allowed to use a Potion before every match. You do it by telling your opponent, that you want to use the Potion. This also has to be reported in the report-post (view example
    before)

    Events (examples):

High Grass - A random wild Hero appears for everyone that can be catch with full life by using a Shadowball
Shadowcenter - all Heroes are healed and all negative buffs are removed

    End of the Tournament

The tournament ends when only 1 player remains. He will be declared as the Winner then. His last opponent will be declared as the 2nd.
The prizes will paid out then.
1st: 30$ (payout via paypal) + 8 badges for the indigo league you can use for the after event.
    2nd: 2000SC + 8 badges for the indigo league

    After Tournament - Event

The winner and second will have the opportunity to take the 8 badges of the Indigo League, they won together with the prize and go to the Indigo Plateau to become a real Shadow-master.

There they can use their hero to challenge the Elite-four. They have 1 try only to defeat all of Elite four one after the other in bo3 format.

Should both winner defeat the Elite
four, they have to face each other in a bo5.

The winner (if there is someone) will be declared as the new Shadowmaster and earns an additional prize money.
This Elite four competition will be part of some of my future events too.

Question: will we be able to heal away our initial damage with abilities like zhanna or infinity core or soulseeker? Or only with abilities that actually increase health like potl?

Nope, u must use a potion.

@Nazbeast, at some points between rounds. This will be determined depending on the amount of participants.
