Because this game is supported on multiple devices. How would they set it up so those running the next version didn't end up play those stuck on the current version?

Speaking of which, how much time did it take to get the previous updates to be approved by apple to play on their devices?

    Why bother?

Just go have fun with the test server for now.

Playtest, balance up the cards, as this IS the last chance you will ever see or fight for any changes.

Hopefully its will won't be 2014 at the worst.
Card market? Probably never coming my gut feelings tells me. 2111? lol.

it depends on the queue and if the said apple reviewer (a.k.a. a feminist) finds Seductress too revealing, she can apply brakes on the process.

Nice digging there Cycle. The op there, which Gondorian was responding to with that quote, is 100% accurate (emph added):

The Extended Delay of new cards will ultimately be this games downfall
Already a month late, and still nothing. Physical cards wont be here for months, the design team is ruining the game by focusing too much on the cards they are trying to fix. Youll never get it perfect,as you see by all the "X is OP" posts already from people on the test servers. So many new players who in a couple days can get tired of doing the same thing everyday in this game. I havent played in forever waiting for new cards/playstyles to take shape. SO PLEASE design team, release some new shit already before this game shits the bed.
I think most of the delay since ~February has been related to technical issues, not design/development, but as I understand the timeline the file didn't leave design until sometime around September last year and then from there until about the end of January it was in some kind of internal testing/development process (I actually don't know if Wulven have a formally split design/development system, or whether it's just a sort of rolling "make the cards and then test them with the same team and a few others, ie. the pfg"). If I'm right on that, then means that it took the design/development/testing team(s) about a year from Gondorian's post there to finalise the file to the point where they were happy to ship it to the public test server where the bug squashing work began in earnest.

So, while accepting that the post-public test server phase delays are largely due to necessary bug squashing work, I would suggest a lot of the initial probelm has to do with the issues highlighted in the quote above.
