Saturday Night Bash #17

Hey everyone! This popup will follow the same rules as last couple weeks. However, contrary to what I said in the IRC, it will continue to be played on the live server, not the test server.

Participants: 16 players +4 reserved. Note: the purpose of this popup is for people to play and have fun, not necessarily to be super competitive. For this reason I'll be accepting everyone who enters, not just rounding to the first 8 or 16. This means some people will get a bye in the first round and be at an "advantage", which I think is preferable to excluding latecomers

Gameplay: Best of 3 (single elimination)

Registration: By posting your IGN in this thread

Rules:

1. Hero lock throughout the tournament.

2. Deck lock in games 1 and 2 of each best of 3. Players are free to add or remove cards from their deck in game 3 of the round (if a game 3 is needed). Each person must use the same decklist in games 1 and 2 of each round (i.e. the deck you use in games 1 and 2 of the first best of three must be same decklist you use in games 1 and 2 of the next best of 3 if you advance). Heroes may not be changed in game 3. The number of cards does not have to be conserved between games 1/2 and game 3 (if you have a 40 card deck in games 1 and 2 you may have a 43 card deck in game 3 if you wish).

3. All participants must join the #tournament IRC channel 15 minutes before the tournament starts. Players will be replaced if they are 5 minutes late (02:05 GMT+0) after the tournament start.

4. Brackets will be generated randomly.

5. Results should be reported through the IRC channel.

6. If a player gets disconnected or has their client freeze during a game, that game will count against them. A final decision will be made based on whose name is in green in the Shadow Era challenge window. Exceptions may be made if both players agree to it.

7. The starting player is randomly chosen for games 1 and 3 (if needed). The player who went first in game 1 will go second in game 2. In the case of a draw or sync error the game will be replayed with the same player going first.

8. Any disputes in the game please consult the organizer.

I'd like to thank everyone who played in the SNB last week, as well as previous weeks. One game that took place last week was especially exciting and inspired me to record the replay to be posted here for you all to see. It was played in the finals between DrSilver and TJ BayushiX, I hope you enjoy it .



Each week I plan to choose one game that was played in the SNB and post the recording in both the original signup thread for that week (as I did here), as well as at the start of the following weeks signup thread (as I am doing with this one). Hopefully this will inspire you guys to play some great games, as well as provide some recognition to those who do.

Although this game was taken from the finals, I will not factor progress in the tournament into choosing which to feature; if the best game of the tourney occurred in the first round then that's the one I'll take

I changed my mind after speaking with some of the players. Although many were in favor of it, the test server is still a couple months away from going live (at least according to the cautious estimated the DT's made) and improvements/bug fixes are being made frequently, so I figure I'll give it another couple weeks at least to stabilize before I move the popup over.

I hope you can forgive me for the delay <3
