Thoughts on Elemental draw?

Heya,

Especially more so with Elementalis, card draw has always (up till now) been a real pain in the ass.

New expansion offers some more options, so what are you experiences?

The "Old" way was: either use Bella and Shadow Knight and hope for the best.... or use HBM and try to gain card advantage whilst u hold the board (works better on zaladar).

The "New" alternatives are??

- Antimatter? Seems nice, but maybe a little expensive to use
- Bloodthirsty? Like surprise attack, I can't see an ally with this attachment living for very long.
- other suggestions?

Would dearly love to have a competitive Elementalis in this expansion. Lots of new cards to make him more competitive...

But it all comes back to card draw.

Antimatter is quite similar to DR: you draw one you lose one, except you can return allies with Core of Infinity now and you have Eternal Renewal. However it's very cost ineffective. I mean Ele should be fatty roll, right? But rush will destroy him...

So anyway, you also forgot Crystal Titan which is bad xD.

Actually, I think Ele is low-cost allies. Couple of fatties sure, but focus should be early game.

Going second, even a Firesnake with Mindless Ferocity and his ability is 4/3 on turn 3...

Mindless Ferocity is like a permanent Extra sharp, or a Sliver of Darkness without losing any Shadow Energy.

Before DP was released onto the test server, I thought Antimatter would be the be-all end-all draw engine. Seriously, you get to delve 3 cards deeper into your deck a turn? But when DP came out, I realized how much of a leap there is from 2 resources to 3. :/

The good thing is that we have answers to Retreat now.

And if you fish out a retreat on turn 3 or 4 then really thats good. Your turn 5 drop is so much safer.

3 resources is very expensive, and, you shred your deck so far. It's a great draw engine, but it's not just a 4x and that's it. You have to base your deck around it.

There is also Aldmor Conduit which works well with Io Void. Also in general Elementalis has a weaker ability than your opponent so your SE is less precious than theirs.

Bilateral draws are also better than before since most classes have unilateral draw options now so there is a higher likelihood your opponent would play a draw engine (kinda like playing bazaar as a response to 1.29 Blood Frenzy).

If you have the resources, Infinity Core combos well with Antimatter - draw two cards, discard one and shuffle it back into your deck while gaining 2 health. But then, that's 5 resources a turn, so you don't really get to play much unless you have a large deck and can afford to sac a lot of cards, which of course presents its own problems.
