My afterthoughts of the expansion spoiler

    Hello SE members,

I found the contrast between the 2 factors seems to be getting more and more obvious to me when it seems like the humans are getting more aggressive early game with the new expansion even though I think the shadows are given some good new weenies in the expansion itself in the likes of Ironhide Karash and Bloodstained Marauder.

Imo, those shadow allies are still as situational as Carniboar and Bad Wolf and will never be as good as the classic human halves eg. puwens and aldons on my books. You might beg to differ with PotL against his new half brother: Sun-Blighted One but I would say that ally doesn't do much for shadows alone cuz it's a mage class ally acessible to both and worst of it is that it gives opponent SE advantage too.

Now on the good side of things to come, I would say my fave cards atm after the overview, would have to be the warrior class allies. people used to say the human perfect rush is OP and will never be taken to new heights but picture this setup possibility:

    T1, Kris or Birg
    T2, Krisx2 or Puwen
    T3, Yari Spearman
T4, another ally of choice. gg's.

Also another ally in my spotlight is the Magma Jackal, whose passive ability is amazing to me but got marred for its cc, but, oh well I don't think it will ever be a 3cc ally to match the human ally, PotL.
however I predict the new 3cc shadow standard is gonna be Morbid Acolyte.

So what else is interesting to you?
Or should I say what's your comments?

Note:Even though I might sound like complaining, I'm not.
All this comments are just personal views after some brief viewing.
It's more like I'm just very curious to see everyone else's PoV too.

I think that the Morbid Acolyte and the Wulven Predator will both be shadow staples. I just hope that Humans aren't still so much better than Shadows, and from the looks of it, I think they won't be.

One card I'm quite interested in is the mage ability Voltar's Ring. It would be really awesome with Nishaven, as now he could do 5 damage to your opponents allies, but only 3 to yours. Also, Static Shock becomes 2 damage to 2 targets for only 2 cc (sort of like its own Banebow), Lightning Strike becomes 4 damage to 2 targets for 4 cc, and Zaladar's ability against you becomes in effect a more expensive Banebow, without the benefit of being unable to be prevented.

Also, Frosted Urigon in an Eladwen deck with Voice of Winter and other freezing cards, then using Shatter Ice.

Kind of focusing on mages here, but I like mages, so I was looking forward to their cards especially.

Hunters have benefitted the most. They were rubbish before. Expect Baduruu to be able to compete. I'd say he got the biggest buff, followed by shadow warriors.

I like the warriors, esp when they're getting some cool upgrades like killing spree and rothem's visage.

What strikes me most about the expansion is that now there are truly counters to everything, but at the same time it's just not worth having most of the useful cards in your deck. I was expecting that there will be a whole lot more new drawing engines, since we all agree that draw is key to the meta right now, but there really are not that many. Currently only mages and warriors have a decent draw and even they are indirectly nerfed by the expansion. So now we have so many useful cards in the deck, but no way to get them into our hand. There should be a way for players to get more cards, even the size of a hand could increase by one card.

In order that you list them: class, worse than TO, nice but class, nice but class, replacement is not draw, bilateral and only good for IO Leviathan decks. I do admit that there are some new interesting unilateral ways to draw cards for each class, but a lot of decks will still have to resort to santa bombs in order to get cards.

Of course, I reserve the final judgement for when I actually get to play the new cards.
