Getting back into a game after losing connection

I have had a few instances where I've needed to get back into a game I was in the middle of, usually from ipad or phone battery dying. When I've tried different ways it always says that I'm already in a game and I have to wait for it to time out. Is it possible to re-enter a match you've somehow left?

That's a highly requested feature, but right now the answer is 'no' you can't reconnect to your game. The other player is probably bored, whacking away at you, then waiting for you to time-out.
