I think you can use it before activating the mini board wipe.

I've tried it a few times and so far it's pretty good. For example. It's mid game you have 2-3 allies in play but your opponent is starting to over run you and he just casted an aeon. Now you have no assassinate but you have 2 smoke screens. You can cast assassinate and start attacking aeon without retaliation or if he's low enough Heath you can try and go for the throat having 3 turns to kill him where he can't attack.

Lance. Serena probably needs it more than Lance, but Lance can use it on the same turn as his ability to make big strides in retaking the board, whereas Serena basically just buys herself a turn to stall.

I see.. that makes sense. I'll try it out
