Elementalis is a fundamentally bad deck. It has all the bad parts of a zaladar deck (poor card draw, expensive ally control) without its one redeeming feature, namely repeatable damage/board control. Dumping a fatty and buffing it every three turns simply doesn't cut it as far as winning the board goes, and without some cheap removal like retreat or captured prey or crippling blow or w/e, and without any meaningful card draw, you'll never have enough resources to be able to clear an ally and drop a threat on the same turn.

The short answer is yes, depending on the definition of compete. There is 1 elementalis just outside the top 8 in regionals right now. If elementalis were more highly represented, I have no doubt it could make it up there. It can also make 300+ rating on qm easily.

I think the answer is yes too, especially against Shadow Heroes. I used Elementalis in the A1 hero draft tournament and I won 2 matches with him. Used HBM Elementalis.
