Hey all I'm new to the game. Found the game while derping around on my brother's I-Pad and was super psyched when I found out I could play via browser. I've checked out the podcast and tried out meltdown a couple of times. I don't have a lot of gold and I was just wondering if anyone knew how many games one would have to play or what rating you'd need to get a payout from the jackpot (on average). I'm not trying to use meltdown to make a ton of gold. I've enjoyed the matches I've played; but I'd like to try and break even at the very least.

I don't know about Meltdown profit, but mostly, it's a loss or equal.

To earn gold in Meltdown, you must maintain rank above 20~30. (I read about it in another post)

What Trueskill said about Meltdown is pretty much true. To make any sort of a profit you really have to play it a lot and win a lot. I played in the Meltdown for only the first week of it, because while it is extremely fun, it is just not profitable to pay 200 gold each game to maybe receive a small payout by the end of the week, especially if you are like me and don't have that much time to play and often lose at it. If they ever make a free version of it (which I doubt), I would play it much more often. Just playing lots of matches vs. the AI is a much better and easier way to gain the gold you need, as the AI is pretty easy to beat.

You CAN do well in Meltdown if your win rate is > 80%, regardless of matches played, and if you are taking into account your game winnings as well.

That being said, farming AI is a far better solution for gold, or just playing a sh*tton of QM

you can make money from meltdown. it's more time consuming but there are benefits to it.

1. it's a lot more fun vs AI
2. you improve your skills a lot when playing meltdown

so it depends on your goals, if you intend to be good at this game and need the gold, meltdown might be the way to go.

However, to really make $$$ on meltdown, u need to win a lot, which is a conundrum perhaps.

if you ask me, directly buying crystals is still the best way.

No, you probably won't gain any bonus gold, too low of a tier.

He spent thousands, probably well over 20k gold. Meltdown is just a broken system and will not reward you unless you are a hardcore player and play tons of games. Needs to be fixed or no one will play it.
