I think there is some confusion about when he does the 1 ping damage - its only in response to -abilities- as i see it (not combat, like Deathbone).
You can however use his ability before attacking... So if he doesnt die from attacking u could sac him 'for free', as i read it.
Most useful situation i think would be to put down a ToK (shadow mage) or bazaar (zaladar) AND a garg on t3.
Or maybe in mid game as a kind of jewlwers dream... If he stays alive long enough.

Deathbone responds to his own death. It's not to do with combat.
Twisted Familiar will ping whoever deals him non-combat damage (unless they are the hero of its controller, as in the text). So as controller of TF, a "friendly" Evil Ascendant won't cause a ping to your hero but an enemy Evil Ascendant will cause ping on the opposing hero if it hurts this twisted little runt.

Nope it doesn't. I didn't mean to say it does. It can normally deal 2 damages in one hit (1 damage to those who can't hit back), thus it can kill a 2hp ally who can hit back in one hit, while Brut can't without any other aid. Don't I understand right? How is that with same attack as Brute's?
So two twisted familiars with same hp hitting each other will kill off each other? since A deals damage to B whose innate ability deals damage to A whose ability deals damage to B etc...
No, his passive only works against ability damage, not against combat damage.
Ah isee, even worse than I originally thought. Don't think I will add it in any of my decks
I think it's only worse than Brutalis. Even then there is a deck that I want to play him with. Better than Carniboar and Dark Flayer.
