Thanks Kyle! Meltdown was crazy and intense, especially when I played against someone who knew what they were doing at all times!
I'm fairly new to this game still, (but have previous experience in other card games, so I became familiar fast with everything in this game) but it was a lot of fun, and extremely difficult to keep up, because I kept running out of gold
my only solution was to toss my extra cards away, I pretty much sold an entire deck just to keep playing in this meltdown format.
Lastly, I'm surprised you didn't post how much our scores were or how much gold we won individually, I guess you like to keep it a secret I totally understand, the surprise factor kept me going through all those games along with the constant bad pulls struggling to win with what you have and coming out of intense situations.
I encourage anyone to try and get to the top 20, it's a lot of fun, that is only if you have the extra time to do so.
Agree, its a lot of fun...! but damn tiring... probably my last time trying for the leaderboard.
You can check this thread for a consolidation of meltdown player's scores.

Spent 600 gold to win 543 gold + 3x40 = 663 gold, for those who think meltdown is for the rich to be richest... you're all wrong, :P

yeah the format of the competition is quite elitist, the cost of 200 gold per match is too much for people who already know going in that being able to win is a long shot at best. Which would be fine if there was at least some place where you could PRACTICE MELTDOWN without shelling out gold - the way it stands now, the later u wait to try meltdown the less likely you'll ever be able to catch up to those who've been playing for a long time = even less incentive to throw away ur gold
but this isn't a complaint, it's merely an observation, as I don't really care one way or the other
btw, who is going to ever recommend to beginners in the forum that they should try meltdown? It's not easy to recommend to anyone but tournament winners
Well based on what Kent said, if you spend enough you will make a little, that is good news.
Also nice jackpot size, lots of meltdown players.

I actually got 2 mails. One said bad luck. The other said I made tier 3, and I got some gold (not sure how much, but believe I made a small profit). I think the latter state of affairs should be the norm. Not sure how many tiers there are. Anyone?
