Own your own physical shadow crystal?!

Hello all!

As per my previous thread, I have been in contact with a glass manufacturer. I have Kyle's blessing on this as well: PHYSICAL shadow crystals!

While I do not have a sample right now, there will be one in the near future. But here's the issue folks:

I have no idea how interested you, as a community are! The small crystals will be roughly 80 mm long, and the large ones at 160. Pricing estimates right now stand at 25 and 50 dollars, respectively. This is with the manufacturer assuming a batch of 200 crystals. Pricing drops quite a lot when you make a lot of them!

But I know this is a small community. I'd like to see how much interest there is in these before going forward. No pre-orders, just a gauge in interest.

I think I disagree, but I'd like to hear your reasoning for this.

Actually... *ponders* Reasons why it would be a good idea:
1. People who sign up are contracted to actually pay up.
2. Nothing gets done unless you get enough people to sign up.

I guess the only reason my instinct was to disagree, was because Kick Starter is so public it seems weird to put our very niche project on there. But yeah, my instinct was wrong

How about giving them out to the top 100? Or even just the top 20 for each season as a QM ladder prize?

Expensive, considering each large "prize" crystal is about 50 dollars, WAY more than many tournament prizes.
