Was this dumb, or totally worth it?

It was me, as Zal, versus someone else as moonstalker, which I have heard is not a good match up, and so I was playing it, with my HBM in hand and going second, so turn three comes, he has three resources and I had 2, sacced up to three, and naturally played my HBM, and he loses one resource and I draw a card, and guess what, it is my other HBM, and so he goes, sacs back up, and my turn comes around, and instead of me saccing and continueing, I skip my sac phase and play my other HBM, I wasn't sure if this was smart or not, and wanted to ask.
    Match was me(PPUOD) vs. DLastSpartan

Not what I would've done personally. You'd already gained resource lead at that point, so I would've sacced up to 4 and put an ally down (Preferably DMT) in this case.

That being said, did you win the match? If you did, maybe that second HBM stuffed him up good.

Yeah I did, though I am not sure how long he had been playing as moonstalker.

Imo, correct move because HBM usually only good in early game, you can always take the board with Zal later, but making your opponent starve on cards and gaining card advantage is that what important for Zal.

I think it was well played. Its a rather unique move i.e. not normal, but I think it would have crippled his start and you in turn gain card-in-hand advantage.

By playing this card twice so early, he gained the following:

Card advantage. He drew extra cards, while his opponent is now two cards behind in draw. And still had to sacrifice. He now has a +3 in cards, and his opponent, -2.

Tempo boost, he now has more cards to choose from and can build up to the perfect draw faster. Which is sometimes important vs moon.

Emotional buff. He pissed his opponent off, so his opponent's judgement got a little twisted, more brash and less cautious. Pretty deadly when using moon.

    I love that last one.
Also I had a DMT in hand, but that made it a hard decsion, but I just laughed after it, so the laughter made it worth it.

IMO it was a good move. But it always depends on your opp. Since he's playing MS, he will most of the time gain tempo using his fatties. Taking out his ressources will make him sacrifice his weenies because he wants to keep his fatties (you will start getting board control) or sacrifice his fatties (you will have more chance of keeping your tempo later) Of course he has other cards to sacrifice, but most of the times, MS is ally-heavy.

Which is why I love doing unexpected moves, cause it is so shocking and, as I have been desvribed as many times, weird.
