Side effect damage from Brutal Minotaur and Molten Destroyer

So I found somewhere on forum a while ago that someone asked what would happen for example if I play mage (Eladwen) and I have 5 health and my opponent is some shadow hero with 7 health and also he has Brutal Minotaur in field witch has 2 health for example, after Eladwens ability used on BM. Question was: what would happen if I cast Supernova, will it be draw game, I would loose my 5HP and opponent lose 5HP from supernova and 2 more from killed Brutal Minotaur. Answer to this is I will loose game cause that 2 dmg from killed BM is calculated later, I had this situation in my game some time ago.

Now I come to new situation, which happened to me 2-3 days ago. I was with my Eladwen and I had 7 health, opponent was at 5 health and he had 2 Molten Destroyers in game. I had Supernova in hand and thought great I will win this cause side effect dmg from killed Molten Destroyers will be calculated after supernova damage. Guess what, it was a draw game?!

My question is why is side effect damage from Molten Destroyer and Brutal Minotaur calculated differently?

The damage done for those two allies are calculated differently. For Brutal Minotaur, it says "When Brutal Minotaur is killed, its controller takes 2 damage." meaning the controller only gets damaged when Brutal Minotaur dies.

For Molten Destroyer it say "Molten Destroyer deals 1 fire damage to any hero or ally that damages it." meaning the dealer of the damage is dealt the damage instantaneously.

So when you cast supernova when you are at 5 health, your opponent is at 7 and kill a Brutal Minotaur it will be calculated like so:

    1. Damage to you and opponent = 5
    2. Your opponent goes to 2, you go to 0
    3. Game identifies you as dead. Winner your opponent
    4. Brutal Minotaur dies. Deal two damage to your opponent bringing him to 0.

When you cast supernova when you are at 6 health, your opponent is at 5 and kill a Molten Destroyer it will be calculated like so:

    1. Damage to you and opponent = 5
    2. Damage is dealt to you from Molten = 1
    3. Your opponent goes to 0, you go to 0
    4. Game declares it a draw

So far, I think only Molten Destroyer is the only ally that does instantaneous damage. Deathbone and Brutal Minotaur will function the same way.

The answer from Danae is correct. Molten Destroyer triggers "on damage", which happens before the "on death" trigger of Brutal Minotaur and also before your opponent's hero loses the 5 health from the damage.
