Moderators are on the job nearly 24/7 so I assume their responses will be 1: official, and 2: measured.

Now, we can tell the newbie "hey kiddo. Didn't you read the FAQ? Here's the link" and mods will be allowed to close threads.

That helps more than you think. When newbies see their threads constantly being closed and redirected to the FAQ, they will begin to get the idea.

No, this section should focus on rulings and mechanics whereas card discussion should focus on synergies and combos etc... And on how OP firesnake is.
