These cards will add a whole new dimension (a big one) to Shadow Era.
Maybe a way to balance it is: When you choose to activate the event card from your resource pile, after activation, it goes into your graveyard and your resources is reduce by 1.
But then again, to add this feature into SE will require ALOT of work, especially the coding and software part, not to mention the mass announcements to update the version. Much easier to implement it in physical cards imo.

Perhaps a powerful event could include a discard a card as part of the mechanic. E.g. 3cc, discard a card. That way the intrinsic mechanic of sacrifice decisions is maintained/ intensified.

Aw, checked this thread for the first time and thought it was about an effect that happens when certain conditions are met. Like for example Aeonand Jasmine
But i must agree with the others opposed to this, sacrificed cards should not be anything other than resources. But, possibly instead of the resource pile cards in the graveyard could still stimulate an effect this would add another front in addition to the board and the hero.
Why not create effects that activate when the card is sacrificed for resource?
Ex:
Strip Mining
4cc - Neutral Ability - Support.
At the start of your next turn, gain 2 resources and remove Strip Mining from the game. If you choose to sacrifice Strip Mining for resource, each of your opponents lose 1 resource.
