Warhammer 40k

I have finally taken the plunge and spent £130 just to get started. I'm going to be Chaos Space Marines so I now have a shed load of figures to paint. I also have paints, books and general ( as my wife would call it ) shit to keep me out of trouble. So between this MTG, Shadow Era and various video games I now declare myself king of Nerdom. If you think yourself worthy of my title and would like to challenge my cirriculum vitae then lay your gauntlet on the pilar of damnation and let the gods decide. Or just share your Warhammer thoughts and experiences. Ta

I like 40k, but it is way to expensive to play anymore. If i still had my eldar stuff I'd play, but everyone else in my area quit playing because of the cost too. Wasn't too happy with the way games workshop treated us fans on boardgamegeek either. So that sealed the deal for me. Have fun though!

Agreed it is ridiculously expensive. However that said the fact that I can spend literally months painting what I've purchased evens it up. I've spent over £400 on MTG and god knows how much on SE. Maybe deep sea diving would be cheaper.

Lol very true! I spent as much every month on L5R as I did in total on 40k, and it is very fun. Unfortunately, a wife and 2 babies later, and I can't afford it anymore. So here I am in shadow era lol

Hardly the king

But I do have quite the collection, which currently sits at:

2000 points of Space Marines, painted up in 3 different chapters (Two homegrown and the Flesh Tearers)
2500 points of Orks - Evil Sunz and Bad Moons. Plus I have a Skullhamma! (Built out of a Baneblade)
2000 points of Chaos Daemons
1300 points of Chaos Space Marines (About half unpainted)
1 mostly complete scratch built Chaos Warhound Titan.

I shudder to think of the money spent there. But I do love making models

I take it you purchased the Dark Vengeance starter box Nerdom?
