    Custom tokens, counters, etc

    Hey guys,

While we're waiting for the bonus goodies to be manufactured in China, I was struck with the thought of simply creating a set of tokens and counters myself. How? By designing them as 3D models and then going through ShapeWays to have them printed.

    http://www.shapeways.com

Sadly I know exactly zero about 3D modeling, but I'm hoping that it won't be too hard to transform a 2D coin design into a 3D one. After the model's done they can be printed in a whole bunch of materials, including bronze :9

Anyone here familiar with 3D modeling and interested in joining me in this effort?

It's not "their" dice per sé, insofar that they only print the designs made by others. But yes, there are lots of exciting dice in there!

Regarding tokens, they already have similar stuff.

    So there's definitely nice options!

    EDIT:
I did order my wife some jewelry from there :9 3D printing is so friggin' cool.

Also: sh*tload of tokens! This could definitely be done for a decent price.

I'm working with "solidworks", which means I can built you any 3D-Model you like!
But (and here it comes): I'm not really a designer, (engineer actually), so: Gimme a drawing, a sketch of what u want, and some rough dimensions.

I'll model it next weak (this week I'm on a festival summerbreeze.com)
Mess with the best, die like the rest!

Awesome! I'm gonna need some time to come up with the designs and the vectors.

    I'll be in touch

I don't know much about 3 dementional modeling but I've found that small glass 'Mancala'-style beads work great for counters and tokens. For life total you can have a group of two tokens and a group of six next to it to represent 26 life for your hero, and beads on an ally represent health, on a hero represent shadow energy
"Give me an ally, and I will fight beside them.
Give me a friend, and I will fight before them."

Who do Caitlyn? Shapeways, or that Mancala stuff? Those beads look to me like flattened marbles
